The Public Service Management and Development Division (PSMDD) of the Department of Finance in conjunction with the ICT Frameworks Steering Group (ICT FSG) has established national frameworks for the supply of Personal Computers, Notebook Computers, Monochrome Laser Printers, and Colour Laser Printers. It has also, in partnership with the Government Networks Programme Board (GNPB), established a national framework for the supply of Mobile Voice and Data services and products. In addition, PSMDD in consultation with the GNPB has developed the Government Networks.
The PSMDD provides secretariat support to the IFSG and the GNPB, implements their strategies, oversees the work of the Contract Managers, co-ordinates the management of the GN on a day-to-day basis, and manages the various vendors and service providers.
Among the PSMDD's Aims
Among the PSMDD's aims are to:
- be a source of information and advice for the various Frameworks and the GN Services,
- be a principal link between agencies and suppliers and escalate issues as appropriate,
- advise on data, voice and video communications,
- working with the ICT FSG determine strategic approaches to the collaborative procurement of ICT products and services through the use of frameworks,
- working with the GNPB determine strategic approaches to the development of telecommunications architectures and plan and oversee the procurement of managed telecommunications services for the Irish Public Sector.?

ICT FRAMEWORKS STEERING GROUP
The ICT Frameworks Steering Group (ICT FSG) is chaired by the Department of Finance and comprises representatives from various sectors of the non-commercial public sector. The IFSG is responsible for determining strategic approaches to the procurement of ICT products and services for the Irish non-commercial public sector through the use of frameworks.
GOVERNMENT NETWORKS PROGRAMME BOARD
The Government Networks Programme Board (GNPB) is chaired by the Department of Finance and comprises representatives from various sectors of the non-commercial public sector. The GNPB is responsible for determining strategic approaches to the development of telecommunications architectures and for planning and overseeing the procurement of managed telecommunications services for the Irish non-commercial public sector.
